Getting Started
Install the Extension
Visit the Chrome Web Store and add TrackBlock to Chrome. The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
Open Gmail
Navigate to Gmail and open any email. TrackBlock automatically scans for tracking pixels.
Review and Take Action
When trackers are detected, review the details and choose to block or allow each one.
Supported Email Providers
Common Issues
Extension icon is grayed out
Make sure you are on Gmail (mail.google.com). TrackBlock only activates on supported email provider domains. If the icon is grayed out, try refreshing the page.
No trackers detected
Not all emails contain tracking pixels. If you suspect a tracker is present but not detected, try opening a different email. You can also check the extension popup for detailed information about the current email.
Extension not working after Chrome update
Chrome updates occasionally affect extension behavior. Try disabling and re-enabling TrackBlock in chrome://extensions. If the issue persists, check the changelog for compatibility updates.
Troubleshooting
Clear Extension Cache
Go to chrome://extensions, find TrackBlock, and click "Details" then "Clear storage" under the Storage section.
Reinstall the Extension
Remove TrackBlock from chrome://extensions, then reinstall from the Chrome Web Store.
Check Permissions
Ensure TrackBlock has the required permissions enabled in chrome://extensions under extension details.
